Stick Electrode Comparison – Mild and Low Alloy Steels |
Selection of the correct electrode (stick) for your conventional ARC welding job is key to getting the best results.
Basic Electrode “CODE” The first two digits indicate the tensile strength Per Sq. In. of the rod,eg 60= 60,000 lbs, 70=70,000 The third digit indicates the welding position the rod is suitable for. 1= ALL positions 2= Horizontal The fourth digit indicates the flux characteristics Generally, 0 & 1 are fast freeze rods, other higher numbers are filler rods. |
