1941 Chrysler Thunderbolt

At Chrysler, K.T. Keller had newly succeeded founder Walter Chrysler, and realized the company needed something new.  Ralph Roberts at Briggs Manufacturing LeBaron studio had the answer, a pair of dramatic concept vehicles by Alex Tremuck space set it apart.lis.  The ground breaking Newport Phaeton open four passenger set the stage, while the Thunderbolt broke the futuristic trail with its dramatic lines.  Based on the New Yorker 127 inch chassis, with skirted fenders, high and sleek door and fender line.  The grill less nose, curved glass windshield and 3 wide bench seat convertible was powered by the Spitfire inline eight cylinder engine, with semi automatic fluid drive.  However, the power retracting hardtop folding into the trunk space set it apart.
